Jock Muscle by Nick Cassadine

Jock Muscle press coverage:
Jock Muscle

Nicholas Cassadine, the local anti-terrorism-expert-turned-gay-underwear-designer behind the Disco Valante line of male skivvies has expanded his operation to include “sexy” protein supplements.

Jock Muscle” is a new “boutique sports nutrition company” that hawks protein powders for the metrosexual set. If you have an interest in gleaming male torsos, read on:

Marketed as a funky and ultra hip brand, Jock Muscle, appeals not only to your physical fitness but your superficial desire to look good naked. Isn’t that what is all about? The long hours in the gym, the dieting, and pushing your body to the limit and beyond…looking good naked.

You win again, Cassadine. You win again.

Recession Fears or Worse

I can't decide if I am more afraid of the economic slowdown or the government intervention that it is creating. I feel that there are a lot of prudent investors and net worth individuals who have cash, and would gladly put it back to work, but like myself, are waiting to see what the government has planned. The idea of saving those who ran towards the cliff of leverage with reckless abandon makes me sick to my stomach. I can see the value of propping up institutions that got caught by the immediate liquidity crisis, but that does not mean saving people whom do not have sufficient cashflow to cover their consumer and mortgage debt.

Part of being a grownup and enjoying a free market is having to deal with the consequences of bad decisions, and getting to watch as others, who did not make bad decisions, reap the rewards of prudence and patience.

It seems that we are seeing some positive movement towards keeping those who lead us down this road at the upper levels from profiting from it in the near term, but the game is far from over and we need to make sure that we don't let one bad decision force us to make more. It's like that movie where Jeremy Piven accidentally kills the hooker and Cameron Diaz beats that guy up. If they had just stopped at one bad decision, they would have ended up much better off. What I am saying is, "Don't try to save the minivan if it could cost your life."

GM linked to our Consumer Excess

From 50% down to 6% of vehicles are financed. Seems that actually having to pay for vehicles may be the biggest thing impacting their sales.

Netflix on Wii Ware == More Cash for Nintendo

Recently Microsoft and Netflix released a streaming service for the xbox360 that allows you to instantly watch a movie from your rental queue on your television. The service comes in the form of an application that is downloaded via xboxLive. The streamed movies are near the quality of a DVD, but if you have a slower internet connection (I have a cable modem) you may see lower quality. After watching a few movies I wondered to myself, "How long until this service become available on the Wii?" It seems like the perfect marriage and for a video streaming device, the Wii has some advantages. Unlike it's large and in charge competitor, the Wii is nearly silent, boots quickly, and has a significantly less cumbersome remote control. Technologically the Wii does bow to the Xbox in terms of resolution, but as I noted earlier, the streams are in near DVD quality, not high definition.

I anticipate a Wii Ware Netflix in the coming future because it simply makes too much sense. Then again, Nintendo has proved me wrong before and Nintendo may not yet feel that the Wii needs to offer more to the consumer, as it is still selling well.

Walter Furman Bone Marrow Drive Dec 7th Pasadena CA

Stem Cell Match Drive for La Canada College Professor this Sunday

Walter Furman currently is fighting Acute Myelogenous Leukemia, a particularly aggressive form of cancer affecting the production of healthy blood cells. The only cure for this disease is a bone marrow transplant. Bone marrow matches are most likely to be found within ethnic groups. There are currently over 700,000 Jewish donors in the various bone marrow registries across the world, but none have matched Walter’s profile.

Pasadena Jewish Temple will host a stem cell match drive this Sunday, December 7th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. All Jewish community members between the ages of 18 and 61 are encouraged to come in for testing. All that is required is registration in the National Bone Marrow Registry and a mouth swab. If a match is made, most likely the transfusion will involve giving blood only.

Walter is a social science researcher and on the faculty of UCLA. He is the husband of Dr. Miriam Shenfeld and the father of four daughters, Alissa, Becky, Caroline, and Kayla.

For more information, please contact the PJTC office, 626-798-1161. Pasadena Jewish Temple & Center is located at 1434 N Altadena Dr Pasadena, CA 91107 (626) 798-1161

www.job.com SPAM is Killing my Inbox

Amazing how low spammers will sink these days. www.job.com is an elaborate phishing site setup to lure users into submitting personal information. It was an easy spot for me, the only problem is all the spam emails that www.job.com sends out. I wish there was a number I could call and let the guys over there know that I see their scam and they can stop sending me mails. It's not like I am going to accidentally forget that they are scam artists and register for their site and start sending them my personal information.
