Faster Food

In my sleep last evening I came across an idea for a video game. Best implemented on desktop PC, as an RPG, think Shadowgate. The game is based around a McDonalds style fast-food restaurant. The tone and feel of my dream had the cadence of the show Lost. In fact the "McDonalds" was a mythical place that only appeared on a small tropical island for 6 days each year.

The manager of the restaurant is a engineer (mad scientist) who has constructed a number of humanoid robots that when coupled with his, often unwilling, human workforce make up the staff of "6 days in Paradise." Nice I have a name now. Love it. "6 says in paradise.

The goal of the game is to determine the reasons for the mad scientists actions and provide him with much needed therapy. If you are successful he will become a more benevolent slave driving boss, if you fail he grows even more Stalin-esque.

I think that a lot of the games core mechanics would revolve around balance. Balancing your diet so that you do not expire (Super Size Me). Balancing your behavior and being a "good" patron so that you do not upset the rigid robotic staff. Caring enough to help keep the human staff around, but not so much that you get them into trouble (robots don't provide a great source of meat, but humans sure do.) Making sure that patrons toe the line and don't end up as staff or worse yet, menu.

Maybe an art style ala "Dead Rising" would work for this one. Anyhow, that's it for now. Just wanted to get this stuff on paper so that I could get back to it later.
